ÒCarrier OilÓ is a term generally used in the contexts of aromatherapy and cosmetic recipes for natural skin and hair care.
Carrier oils and essential oils are made from plants. Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils and ÒcarryÓ them to your skin. ThatÕs because essential oils are potent and can cause irritation when applied directly to your skin.
A Carrier Oil is a vital aspect of an aromatherapy massage or a natural cosmetic such as a soap, bath oil, body oil, cream, lip balm, lotion, or other moisturizer, as it can affect the usefulness of the massage and the color, scent, therapeutic properties, and shelf life of the final product, respectively.
Most carrier oils are unscented or lightly scented and donÕt interfere with an essential oilÕs therapeutic properties. They may be used alone or with other oils to nourish your skin.
It is a chemical-free process that involves placing the nuts or seeds in a horizontal press that has an 'expeller,' which is a rotating screw. The screw drives the nuts and seeds through a barrel-shaped hollow and compresses them until the high pressure squeezes out the oil, which seeps out through the opening, while the Ômeal,Õ or the debris, remains inside the barrel. The oil is then filtered, resulting in the finished product. Due to the absence of solvent residues in Cold Pressing, the outcome is cleaner, purer oils that are higher in natural colors and scents.
The phyto-nutrients, vitamins and minerals present in amla help in increasing the scalp circulation and stimulate growth. Vitamin C of amla produces collagen protein. This can help in stimulating hair growth, both length and volume wise. Collagens replace the dead cells of hair follicles with new hair cells.
Dandruff is usually the result of dryness. This vitamin C rich oil helps the dryness and might limit the accumulation of dandruff. AmlaÕs Vitamin C, its properties could stop dandruff and also the itching caused by it, on the scalp
Premature graying usually occurs due to excess pitta in the body. Some of the signs of excess pitta include skin rashes, burning sensations, peptic ulcers, excessive body heat, and heartburn. Amla, a natural coolant, is an excellent oil for fixing the pitta condition, which minimizes graying.
Amla oil serves as a beneficial tonic for both skin and hair. It strengthens your hair follicles thereby facilitating hair growth and strengthening of the hair. Plus, strengthens the roots, maintains color and better luster. Eating fresh gooseberry or applying its paste on the roots of your hair increase hair growth and color.
